Every year since I was around 8 my Grandma Myrlene has taken us up to Snowbird for a week! As a little girl I would wait for this week to come. I looked forward to it for months! We had so much fun up there swimming, walking to the plaza, playing in the halls and elevators, playing Indians on the “island”! Brady, my cousin Jeremy and I had so much fun. It was the only vacation that we had most of the time so we squeezed every moment out of that week that we could! I am sure we drove grandma crazy with our loud laughing on the balcony each night because we were too worked up to sleep. She never complained though, she acted like she didn’t want to be anywhere else on the planet than there cooking and cleaning up after us all day long. We thought we were so far from the world. Back then it wasn’t a local call to call home and we didn’t have cell phones so we pretty much felt like we were in a different world. Grandpa would come up during the week at some point and usually bring us milk, but for the most part it was our little world and we couldn’t have loved that week more!
For the past two years, my sisters and I have taken our kids up there to let them create memories with their cousins. We took Grayson this year and he was so good and had so much fun! We had Laurie’s little Elsie and Gray and they were so cute together and they took turns sleeping in the playpen that we had in the bathroom! So funny. Brett’s boys and Keegan came too and the kids did pretty much whatever they wanted… swam, went to the plaza, ran around the halls and elevators. I hope they loved it just as much as I did when I was a kid!!!!
Squirrel watching on the balcony!
